My Immigrant Story:

Although I was born and raised in the United States, my family is from the Dominican Republic and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Growing up, I often heard my grandfather talk about his journey to citizenship in the United States and how impactful the experience was for him and my family. Looking back, I reflect on the look of adoration and the light in my grandfather’s eyes as he delved into every detail. Although the choice was not an easy one, it is clear that he holds it close to his heart. That light I saw in his eyes every time is the reason I chose to work in immigration. I wanted to be able to give others what my grandfather had so many decades ago: hope.”
